The players have announced our 2012 Season, and we're very excited with the selections. It's our most ambitious season yet.
In March, we will open with Stop Kiss, an award-winning play about an unexpected romance between two young women. The romance is shattered when an assault leaves one in a coma, and the other is left to piece together the story of their friendship. This is an affectionate work that resounds with the universal themes of love and commitment. Margaret Umbsen will direct.
In June, the adventure continues with Sherlock Holmes: The Final Aventure. After facing numerous perils in his illustrious career, will it be the villany of the diabolical Professor Moriarty or the love of a young woman that will be the great sleuth's final undoing? No matter how it turns out, this rollicking mystery full of suspense and the detective's wry wit will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
On the heels of our success with I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, the Players will again bring love and music to our stage with the Tony award-winning Company. Company is a funny exploration of love as seen through the eyes of a charming, confirmed bachelor and his married, slightly envious friends who are determined to see him married. With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and direction by Tom Large, this promises to be a night filled with love, fun, and outstanding music.
